MATERIALS MANAGEMENT MANAGER APG Cash
Drawer, LLC is a privately held corporation based in
Minneapolis, Minnesota. APG manufactures a broad range of
high-quality cash drawers and other related products for
the standard and heavy duty marketplace, with thousands
of domestic and international customers. Manage and
supervise the materials management team to successfully
support domestic and international purchasing, logistics,
production planning and scheduling, warehousing,
inventory control, material handling, shipping and
receiving, and other miscellaneous tasks by performing
personally or through subordinates, the duties listed.
Some overseas travel required to Asia and Europe. · This position is responsible for managing and supervising the activities of the 10+ employees in the materials management and logistic stores department. · Plan and execute material operations for timely and cost effective delivery of quality materials, supplies, equipment and services to meet the production schedule and the customer order due dates. · Organize and establish inventory locations. Maintain accuracy and correct inventory level to meet production schedule and customer orders, including cycle counting, and coordination of the physical inventory taking and valuation. · Plan and execute production planning scheduling to meet customer order requirements and production capacity load leveling. · Develop and maintain standard and operational and working practices to ensure policies and procedures for materials management group are observed and comply with APG quality system and the ISO standards. · Coordinate activities in the handling of materials for efficient and cost effective flow to assembly. · Review materials cost and quality, and determine inventory levels, to maintain and enhance profitable operations. · Oversee the selection, evaluation and approval of suppliers. · Negotiate terms and contractual agreements with suppliers to optimize material and service costs. · Maintain and report continual improvement quality, on-time delivery and cost performance of key suppliers. · Prepare and implement tactical MBO's to achieve company goals and objectives. · This position reports to the Vice President of Operations. · Travel four to five times a year to Asia. Requirements · BS/BA degree or equivalent. · Minimum 10 years experience in managing and supervising materials management including, purchasing, logistics, production/inventory control, shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment. · Excellent MRP/ERP knowledge and planning skills required. Visual software a plus. · Quality Management Systems knowledge including ISO and internal auditing. · Excellent communication, team building and leadership skills required. · Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience, Kanbans, DTS, VMI, Kaizen, 5S. · APICS Courses. · International travel.
