The Senior Category Manager for Direct Commerce is responsible for managing Online Merchandise Managers and Online Merchandisers as well as indirect support team members to develop and execute merchandising strategies. The position includes full P&L responsibility. This position reports directly to the DMM for Online Merchandising.

Ideal candidate will:

• Direct customer centric strategies and execution for multiple categories. Serving like a General Manager, the candidate will influence and develop relationships with the B&M merchants to ensure Sears.com has best-in-class product assortments for key categories. In addition, the candidate will work with the Online Product Management team to plan and develop key features and functionality to drive sales, margin and customer engagement.

• Have the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization that includes B&M Merchandising, Online Marketing and Promotions, Product Management, Inventory and others

• Have deep knowledge of the ecommerce space including competitive strategies, industry trends, consumer trends and sales strategies

• Have the ability to influence, interact and communicate to upper level management

• Demonstrate leadership skills, build teams, and motivate associates

• Communicate and keep upper management informed regarding business performance and trends

• Demonstrate deep financial acumen and strong decision making skills

• Think in a data driven way with the ability to scale strategies through technological capabilities

• Negotiate and solve conflict

• Coach and direct online merchandising team

Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:

• Full P&L responsibility across multiple product categories

• Development of customer centric selling strategies

• Optimization of existing functionality and influence over the creation and prioritization of new functionality

• Leadership, relationship building, strategic guidance, and the removal of barriers

• High level promotional planning and the evolution of execution tactics Experience required

• Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university required; MBA preferred

• 3 - 5 years related online category management experience, 4 - 6 years with a mix of merchandising, onsite marketing and offsite marketing experience

• Must have strong affinity for internet/multi-channel retailing and work well in large team matrix organizations
