Successful candidates will demonstrate passion for apparel product, brands and strategies, coupled with a knack for expressing this passion in the online marketplace.

Qualifications:

  • Supports apparel business to develop seasonal business strategies that exceed financial goals and customer expectations.
  • Create simple, compelling product statements which inspire customers to buy.
  • Assist in the development/decision of the product assortment, merchandise point of view, brand strategies, key item positioning, and promotional plans.
  • Ensure that the collection is compelling, commercially viable and supports the overall business objectives.
  • Support online exclusive businesses strategies through strategic product development, promotional strategies, and product presentation.
  • Understand basic components of driving the online business based on daily and weekly sales, margin performance and on-line consumer feedback.
  • Work with manager and team to react to business in a timely manner.
  • Develop the ability to recap business and articulate learning to cross-functional partners.
  • Assist with web management to create a compelling product experience on the site, to include inspirational merchandise presentation, simple and intuitive category navigation, and clear and accurate product details.
  • Responsible for timely workflow of web management deliverables and timelines; includes overseeing and validating the work completed by the merchandise coordinator. Possess clear understanding of the importance of high quality work and accuracy and its impact on the customer's site experience.
  • Communicate changes in merchandise assortments and messaging to the appropriate members of the cross-functional team on a timely basis; actively listen to all members of the cross-functional team to ensure that tasks are well integrated.
  • Create an open communication with brand counterparts by attending divisional/cross functional meetings and class reviews. Stay aware of changes in brand assortments and strategies.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts, margin agreements and key selling strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork skills through cooperating with cross-functional teams, both brand and on line.
  • Builds strong partnerships cross-functional team members.
  • Ad hoc analysis as needed.

  • Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast paced environment.
  • Possess computer literacy and facility with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of merchandising experience in apparel.
