BUYER, MEN'S DENIM AND WORK CLOTHING

Position is located at our Grand Rapids, MI Headquarters.

Candidates outside the Grand Rapids area, will be required to relocate.</center>

The individual selected for this position will be responsible for the Men's Denim and Work Clothing area. Responsibilities include:

* Vendors negotiations

* Builds vendor relationships/Joint Business Plan

* Assists in developing store specific plans at the category level

* Supervision, training and development of Merchandise Associates

* Sales and margin financial performance for multiple categories

* Selects and analyzes ad items and events

* Utilizes market trend analysis to determine assortment

Ideal candidate must possess the following:

* Bachelor's degree or commensurate retail experience

* Previous buying, inventory, or analysis experience

* Superior negotiation and planning skills

* Sense of project trends

* Knowledge of business drivers (pricing, promotion, assortment)

* Domestic and overseas travel required

* Knowledge of the market, retail business and customers

* Microsoft Office experience with the ability to learn Meijer applications

* Enthusiasm, initiative, and passion for retail
