Description: |
This position will be
responsible for reducing the total material costs
of Siemens Energy and Automation, by the driving
of design to cost and targeting cost processes.
Deliverables to include: BOM evaluation and
implementation of potential cost savings. Provide
competitive proposals for product improvement.
Development of a commodity plan based on an
evaluation of our current supplier selection.
Development of purchasing strategies that
influence at the suppler level. Carry out benefit
analysis workshops with key suppliers and
internal cross-functional teams to concentrate on
the key functions of the components/product in
order to reduce cost.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree an engineering discipline (ME,
EE, IE) is required.
Qualifications:
Must have 5-7 exp in a manufacturing environment
in either manufacturing engineering or operations
within a purchasing role
Must be experienced in cost reduction and
redesign of products
Experience in the power distribution industry
preferred
Proven skills and experience in Project/Program
Management
Proven ability to work with/in cross-functional
teams, negotiate and build relationships is a
must.
Must be able to read and interpret blue prints
Proficient in MS office; must have proficiency in
MS Project
