Job description:
The Procurement Manager
will contribute to Company Operating Profit and Cash Flow
objectives by delivering a competitive advantage in
material sourcing and maximizing the total value of
materials, as measured by total cost, quality,
innovation, and service.
The Procurement Manager will manage all aspects of
material procurement for specified material categories,
including market analysis, supplier selection,
negotiation, supply management, budgeting, continuous
improvement, supplier evaluation, supplier innovation,
cost innovation, and risk management.
Manages the annual budget, sourcing strategy,
hedging/futures trading strategy, negotiation, contracts,
cost savings, reporting and delivery/service issues for
approximately 200 items and 100 suppliers.
Drives ideation and implementation of annual cost
savings; manage qualification process, start-up, and
reporting.
Negotiates and drives annual cash flow improvements
through negotiation, extension of payment terms, and
inventory management.
Recruit, qualify, manage, negotiate, and deliver annual
growth targets for addition of Minority suppliers to
Supplier Diversity Program.
Accountable for raw material costing, delivery and timely
execution of Innovation projects and 50+ Supply projects
per year. Manage input into FAIR processes.
Uses Supplier Measurement System to manage supplier
performance in the areas of service, quality, and
innovation support, select and define Best in Class
suppliers and capabilities, as well as manage transitions
to new suppliers based on poor ratings.
Maximize use of e-business capabilities through the
supplier selection and implementation of supplier
portals, EDI, ERS, Contract Manager, Procuri/e-sourcing.
Ensures compliance with all internal and external
policies and procedures regarding material set up,
qualification, legal and negotiation, financial reporting
and control, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree in
Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Agribusiness or
a related field and 5-7 years of experience in
procurement, supply chain, or a related field is
required.
Ten or more years of experience in Corporate procurement
for a production/manufacturing business may substitute
for a Bachelors Degree and 5-7 years experience.
Must have experience leading a strategic sourcing
initiative with a cross functional team. Preference given
to candidates who have lead strategic sourcing activities
globally.
Candidates with 2 years or more of experience with
hedging futures, market analysis, risk management and
commodities trading are preferred.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience
managing COGS reduction projects and cash flow
improvements.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience with
sourcing, supplier selection and negotiations, including
RFI/RFP preparation, bid analysis, pricing and terms
negotiation, legal agreements/contracts, and supplier
transitions/new supplier implementations.
Candidates must have proven experience in setting
procurement strategy and providing risk assessments for
suppliers, markets, and materials, and leveraging
supplier relationships to deliver Company financial
objectives.
Candidates must have proven performance in establishing
long term strategies, contingency plans, developing
budgets, and monitoring performance against metrics.
Candidates should have experience in supplier
relationship management: Supplier Diversity recruitment
and development, supplier measurement tools, etc.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in
supporting innovation, R&D activities, and new
product launches.
Computer/technology proficiency required: software
packages enabling communications and data analysis (word
processing, presentations, spreadsheets) with preference
given to candidates experienced in using SAP and
e-sourcing tools.
