We currently have the following opportunity:

COMMODITY SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops optimum purchasing
arrangements for assigned commodities. Manages contractual issues relative
to assigned commodities. Participates on
selection/qualification/certification and services. Coordinates user
involvement and administers resulting contracts. Communicates to all users
groups pricing and availability information as required. Surveys market for
best sources of new sources of supply. Monitors quality assurance programs
for assigned commodities. Maintains supplier lead-time and current cost
fields in SAP and is supplier management representative during the setting
of standard costs for parts within leverage with applicable suppliers.
Completes reports and graphics on supplier performance, emerging
technologies and general trends in the marketplace. Advises management of
industry competitive situations, alternative supply sources, Commodity price
trends and supply/demand situations based on knowledge of competition and
the marketplace. Leads negotiations for complex goods and services.
Coordinate RFQ/RFI/RFP activities as required. Software licensing and
maintenance contracts experience required.  Current technological experience
in negotiating and executing contracts in network applications, (local area
network, storage area network, internet web based hardware, router, switch,
fiber optic, and firewall applications) preferred.  Experience with
telecommunication procurement preferred.  QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree
in technical area or business required. Certification in NAPM and or APICS
desirable and a plus. Prefer a minimum of twelve (12) years combined
material buying experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of
eight (8) years in a senior buying role. This position is eligible for
